HLTAID005: Provide first aid
in remote situations
This course deals with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response and emergency life support to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation. The course applies to workers who may be required to prepare for and provide a first aid response in locations beyond the reach of timely medical assistance.
There is an online registration and theory component which takes up to 2 hours followed by a face to face practical session which can take up to 6 hours depending on class size, participant’s theory knowledge and practical ability. There are no pre-requisite requirements for this course.
Course assessment tasks:
- Theory questions consisting of multiple choice and short answer questions
- Performance tasks
- Simulated practical scenarios
- NOTE: CPR must be demonstrated on the floor for 2 minutes
The normal price for this course is $160 per person.
