This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

There is an online registration and theory component which takes up to 1 hour followed by a face to face practical session which can take up to 3 hours depending on class size, participant's theory knowledge and practical ability. There are no pre-requisite requirements for this course.

Course assessment tasks:

  • Theory questions consisting of multiple choice and short answer questions
  • Performance tasks
  • Simulated practical scenarios
  • NOTE: CPR must be demonstrated on the floor for 2 minutes

The normal price for this course is $60 per person.
